Indian Government Warns Social Media Giants Over Child Abuse Content

The Indian government has issued warnings to social media companies, including X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and Telegram, instructing them to remove child sexual abuse content from their platforms or face legal consequences. The government aims to create a safer internet environment under IT rules. Non-compliance may lead to the withdrawal of legal protections for these platforms under Section 79 of the IT Act.
