EU Issues 24-Hour Deadline to Facebook and Instagram Over Hamas Content

European Commissioner Thierry Breton has given Facebook and Instagram a 24-hour deadline to remove content related to Hamas, the Palestinian militant group. Breton warned that if the platforms failed to comply, they could face penalties under EU law. This move comes as part of efforts to combat the spread of extremist content on social media.
